Friendly Greek in Toronto

Food is good, a good patio. Not a lot of space but the patio has a lot of space. The food is Greek and that's all that is important.

Food is HORRIBLE!!!! The service there is absolutely TERRIBLE. They don’t even deserve a star....

We used Doordash. The food was piping hot. The chicken souvlaki was the best tasting we have had. The greek fries were delicious. Honestly everything was excellent. Couldnt ask for better.

Budget-friendly Greek food in Greektown. Better than Mr. Greek IMHO. Most of my family really likes the chicken souvlaki dinner, but I usually go for the lamb fournou (shoulder). At one point they served an awesome greek pastry dish - lamb, feta cheese and spinach in thin layers of pastry - called exohiko, but I haven't been able to get it there in recent visits.

The food has always been consistent here. I did like the old location better but atleast the food is still the same. The gyro (meat loaf style) is the best. They have amazing grilled octopus. Nice place for a quick meal.

It's a very cozy little place for not so expensive Greek food.

Service was cold, “cooked” vegetables were tasteless and way undercooked, my partner’s meal was unsatisfactory. Overall kind of greasy food- but the potatoes were good. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

There is far better spots to have authentic Greek food. This is not one of them. How can they serve such bland food, rice and patatoes in a tasteless bland tamato base... dry chicken, horrible tzatziki, no authentic taste. The feta cheese on the equally bland cheap head lettuce salad with unripened tamatoes and the salad probably sat in a fridge prepackaged. Never again.Big isn't always better.

Excellent food and friendly service, home cooked authentic Greek cuisine. The 3-dips is excellent (best I've tasted) and the saganaki is very tasty and a fun thing to watch as they light it on fire for you! Our meals were very well prepared and quite delicious with a nice glass of retsina. It was a real pleasure to experience this family run jewel of the Danforth!

Rice and Potatoes are in a bland tomato sauce. Chicken was dry. Tzaziki was sour and garlicky with no “real” tzaziki flavour.

We love the food and the service. We moved to Ottawa but Every time were in town we go there to eat the best Greek food in town. The owner is very friendly and I love there new location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friendly staff, really good grilled calamari and salads. I ordered a gyro dinner but that was mediocre. I liked the experience overall.

Delicious Greek food for a great price. I had the dinner special and I couldn’t finish my plate because it was too much food. I definitely recommend this place.

Not worth the money. It was a mistake to go here with so many other spots. The chicken is dry and looks like decreased nuggets gone wrong. The rice is bland with tomato sauce plopped on. Go somewhere else...sad we were thinking it would be okay

Good reasonably priced food.

It's too bad this place is as expensive and unimpressive as it is. We ordered the lamb platter for $21.99. You get one souvlaki stick of lamb and a couple of pieces of broccoli with 3 potato pieces. The gentleman beside us kept asking for some water as the waitor wasn't attentive at all. Save your money and go somewhere either less expensive with more food, or a nicer restaurant for about the same price. I'd prefer Messini over this.

Always a great experience!!!! The owner is super polite and so are the rest if the staff. Going to Toronto for us means stopping at the Friendly Greek on Danforth!!!!!

Good service and tasty food. Obviously not the best on the Danforth as it’s a bit pricey for what you get but I had a lamb souvlaki dinner and the lamb was cooked to perfection. The place also seems quite clean.

Used to be great food with the famous large Greek portions, complete with thick chunky chicken sticks and lots of feta cheese. My last experience was nearly the complete opposite. Half the regular size chicken and a drizzle of feta over light green and yellow lettuce complete with enough oil to soak everything in the bag. Of course the only thing that didn’t change is the price which is now far too expensive considering the quantity and quality.Should have stuck to what made you great. Farewell!

I really wanted to like this place, but the food was sub par at best and not gonna lie, I expected more from the danforth. Fries were oozing grease and were very bland, and my roommate and I are 99% sure we were just eating a $1.99 pack of Uncle Ben's ready rice.

I always enjoy the food, however I may rename to the "un" friendly greek, the woman, assume boss never seem to enjoy other than her kind of people that enter her door. Or may she only speak greek. Just always seem grumpy to people that enter her door. The employees were helpful.

It's our first time in this restaurant and we enjoyed the food that we ordered. The server was very polite, friendly and will assist you in everything that you need.

In my Greek tour around Toronto, I found this amazing place to delight me at every bite. Great job guys!

On November 12, 2018 we had an enjoyable Birthday lunch at The Friendly Greek. The Chicken Souvlaki and Garlic Bread with Cheese were excellent. After the meal, the charming waitress brought us a delicious piece of "Galaktoboureko" cake to share, compliments of the restaurant. She saw my camera on the table, and offered to take a photo of us together. Thanks so much for such wonderful service!!

Stopped into the friendly Greek Sunday while out for a ride on the bike. Had a Hero for $6. Was awesome. Meat was tasty and plentiful as were the fresh tomatoes and onions. And the sauce was outstanding. We will for sure go again

I always get souvlaki on a pita but the lamb burgers are a hit, too.
